Professor Jane Murphy
Jane Murphy is Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics, a Registered Nutritionist and Dietitian. Jane’s primary research interests are committed to actively promoting healthy ageing through better food and nutrition in older people living in communities and wider care settings. She was PI for TANGERINE study at Bournemouth University until October 2025 and continues to support dissemination and impact of the outputs.
As a senior clinical academic, she is co-lead for a large NIHR-funded multi-centre randomized controlled trial to improve food and nutritional care at home for older people in care homes (REFRESH trial) and Co-I for improving workplace learning in care comes (LEARNING to CARE study). Currently based in Primary Care, she is Consultant Dietitian at The Adam Practice, a NIHR Primary Care – Commercial Research Delivery Centre (PC-CRDC) in Dorset. She has led and collaborated on multiple research projects, totalling over >£14 million career to date, authored an extensive body (>150 peer-reviewed) of published research and book chapters, internationally recognized in high impact journals.
