Dr Hibbah Osei-Kwasi

Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Public Health at Loughborough University

Hibbah Araba Osei-Kwasi is a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Public Health at Loughborough University. As a community-centred researcher, her work focuses on understanding and harnessing community strengths to prevent non-communicable diseases and reduce health inequalities. She explores how food, culture, environments and social context shape health, using culturally grounded, asset-based approaches, including positive deviance, with diverse communities across the UK and sub-Saharan Africa. Through mixed-methods research, co-production and community partnerships, she generates evidence to inform policy, practice and sustainable solutions, and translates research into accessible outputs and public engagement resources. Her work has been supported by funders including the AXA Research Fund, Wellcome, EuroAgenet and NIHR. She is also committed to building research capacity and supporting the next generation of community-engaged researchers.
