Dr Mayada Demashkieh
Mayada Demashkieh is a Research Associate within the Lifestyle Team at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, University of Leicester, where she contributes to the NIHR-funded M3 project developing and evaluating a new model of care for people with early-onset type 2 diabetes. Her work involves coordinating multicentre research and collaborating with patients, healthcare professionals and NHS stakeholders to support the delivery of high-quality clinical research.
Mayada was awarded her PhD in 2026, with research exploring the relationships between chronotype, physical activity and immune markers of chronic inflammation. She also holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Her research experience spans clinical trials, epidemiological studies and lifestyle interventions, with interests in nutrition, physical activity, chronic disease prevention and translational health research.
