Dr Reena Vijayakumaran
Reena Vijayakumaran is a Registered Public Health Nutritionist with the UK Association for Nutrition (AfN), with an academic background in nutrition and experience in higher education and research. She began her academic career as a Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, before progressing to Senior Lecturer in Nutrition roles at Bournemouth University and Health Sciences University in the UK.
She is currently an Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Programme Lead for Food Science and Technology at Universiti Teknologi Brunei. Her research expertise is in public health nutrition, with interests in eating behaviours, food insecurity, and health inequalities. At Bournemouth University, she contributed to the Tangerine research project, working closely with Indian ethnic minority communities to explore nutrition-related behaviours and experiences.
