Michaela Barrow

Michaela is a registered social worker, qualifying in 1995 and has experience working in a range of different statutory teams predominately within adult social care settings, mental health, Adults over 18yrs, Dementia care, hospital settings. She completed her Mental Health Approved Social Work qualification in 1998 and practices as an AMHP for adults over the age of 18yrs. She has been a qualified Practice Educator since 2011 and continues to keep her practice up to date and particularly enjoys supporting the next generation of social workers within this role.

Her current role involves managing a small team, whose aim is leading across the council for both Adults and Childrens services with the delivery of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, social work practice placements, practice education CPD opportunities for experienced social workers, upskilling supporting and assessing to become a placement supervisor or a practice educator. Her role also includes data management, quality assurance processes, workforce planning with a focus on recruitment & retention.
